[/u][/size][/right][/blockquote][/blockquote]To Be Your Own Best Friend...APPERANCE: James currently stands at roughly five foot five, an average height for a man of his age. Or at least, let's hope that it is. Speaking of most anything that isn't his clothes on his body, James seems all average when people don't think of him as a Pokemon Professor. His hair is an almost off-brown color, the op sticking up slightly in small spikes, while the rest shags down a couple inches from his face. His eye color is more or less an emerald color of some sort, always covered in a layer by his glasses because he isn't too well in the line of sight. His skin is a light color, some sort of mix between tanned and pure white. Maybe because he doesn't get out much, but hey, it still works.
You could defiantly tell that McAllen is a Pokemon Professor. His clothing consists of the casual Professor attire: he wears a dark grey t-shirt with baggy, dark grey pants and white colored shoes to match. He usually likes dark colors more or less, which is funny ins considering. Around his belt loop, he has a specially designed holder for his Pokeballs, which consists of a loop with bags are are in strips that hold six Pokeballs. He as well, as you might be thinking, wears an over coat that's all white, with some pockets here and there for odd stuff that James may carry around that he only thinks that he needs. Funny, how some people carry too much rather than thinking that they'll forget something they still don't need in the long run.
PERSONALITY: Though he may sometimes seem stubborn and out of place, James ins't a bad guy. More or less, James enjoys spending his time out side in the world of Pokemon, much like Professor Birch would. He more than likely is studying the habits of Pokemon, and what makes them change color into shinies rather than their regular colors when they are born. He seems too curious about this at times, and will sometimes be out of the lab for days on end, not seeing a trace of him. Other times, you will see him hubbed in his lab, unable to break free of his work, almost like a sued like Professor Elm. He's rather the kind of guy who will spend his time with Pokemon because he seems to bond with them easier, clicking with them faster. How nice is that, right?
As for his time with humans, well, let's just say that needs a little working on. It's sometimes hard for him to communicate with humans because he would rather spend his time with Pokemon instead. He can usually only relate to people who are, more than likely, just like him in certain ways: love Pokemon - especially shinies - enjoy going on adventures, and none the less, like finding out about new things. Sure, he'll talk to others even if they don't have the same interests, though. He just has a much harder time communicating with them is all. He can sometimes be known to stop talking sometimes to some people if they annoy him enough, though. He just does not enjoy the company of other humans too much, if you have not have noticed too much from seeing this.
Over-all, though, James is a pretty laid back and easy going type of guy. He is pretty nice to those that he knows, and doesn't mind creatures - Pokemon or not - that are hyper active and have a lot of energy, for he was once like that when he was young, believe it or not. Sure, he still has a lot of energy for traveling and things such as, but it never lasts as long as it used to. He does enjoy good conversations every once and a while, though bad habits die hard when it comes to trying and keeping those friends longer than expected, believe it or not. He is pretty easy going, though, and can be calm in the most hectic of times, really he can be. Kind of hard to see in a sensible guy like him, right? Peh, yeah right, I thought so, right?

....On The Outside Looking In
[/u][/size][/right][/blockquote][/blockquote]Leave Out All The Rest...HISTORY: James was born into a pretty normal life, and a pretty good family; he had a mother and a father, and both were socialized in the middle class of society. Both made good money, and James got almost anything he wanted, mainly because he was an only child. He seemed to have the good life as what everyone else had seemed, none the less. He got to play with any Pokemon he wanted, though even though his parents didn't own any - his mother had never went on a Pokemon journey in her youth, and his father had given away all of his Pokemon to his brother when he moved into the city because he could no longer keep them - he still got to play with them at family reunions and such. Yes, everything seemed.
Well, to an outsider, at least. Inside, everything was brewing.
Jame's parents weren't the best to get along with; ever heard of the term "opposets attract"? That was only by comparison with the two. They really had nothing in common with each other, either. They never got along, and they always fought with each other, yelling and screaming and the such, sometimes throwing things at each other, all the while James was still in the house, and still pretty young not to know why his parents hated each other when he wasn't in the room one moment, but at each other's throats the next moments when he was out of the room. He seemed to always be scared, always hide in closets or his room. He was always scared and such, and thus, he seemed to be a troubled child around others, weather trying to fit in or not.
Many people worried about him, though never seemed to do a thing to help him at home. He never tried to make any friends because of what was happening at home; the fights became more frequent, and more people called for domestic dispute, though never ending in anything really bad, none the less. James, in school, tried to stay away from others in order to not be hurt by others because of what was wrong at home. He thought that more people would just make fun of him because of what his parents did, and might tease him or worse while in school. He only stayed at his home, and never tried to get any help, because he thought it would all blow over soon, that this was all just an act they were doing to test him or something. He was off, let me tell you.
By his much early teenage years, things started to grow worse. His parents wouldn't get a divorce because they thought it would ruin their child by not having two parents in one household, but by both staying together and fighting all of the time, one sometimes leaving bruises on the other, they had already ruined him enough by now. James had resorted to sometimes cutting him self, some of the scars still seen today. He was almost on the brink of drugs, and the only reason why he hadn't started on his Pokemon journey already was because his parents thought it would be better to look forward to a career with more knowledge than traveling around. Unwillingly, James had obeyed his parent's wishes. Though, one night, most of his pain and suffering would almost end.
Though some of it might have began.
It was a way too snowy December eve, a day before Christmas Eve to be exact. Thirteen and a half year old James waited in his living room, quietly watching some Christmas specials, when the phone rang. His parents had told him never to answer the phone when they were gone, but did he ever listen? Peh, never. So instantly - and with an annoyed sigh - the young man arouse and answered the phone. A women was on the other end, and when he spoke up in knowledge that he was there, she introduced her self and Officer Jenny. They were the cops of the region, and the main protectors of all of the inhabitants of it. So why would she be calling someone like him? He didn't do anything wrong. Maybe his parents had dome something wrong in his honor? Peh, as if.
Turned out that it had snowed a but load that afternoon and late evening, and the roads were pretty slick and almost unseeable in. It was pronounced as unsafe to drive on almost minutes after Jame's parents had left, though the teenager had yet to notice since he was so caught up in watching those specials. It turned out that while his parents were out still buying Christmas presents, they had accidently gone off of the road because of a freak gust of wind and snow had blind sided them instantly, making his father, the driver, swerve in order to get a right view of the road, instead hitting a part of the road that was covered thickly in ice. They had careened into a ditch, but the force of the impact left them dead on arrival.
James was truly alone.
It took a couple days for all of it to sink in, and while this was happening, the rest of his family was trying to figure out what to do with him. None of them really wanted to keep the boy, because most to all of them simply stated, "They had more things to worry about than a teenage boy." That angered James none the less, but he didn't care about that; he had learned while spying on his cousin and aunt talking that he was going to be sent to an orphanage, which angered him more than all. He couldn't take living in such a place like that, with so many other children and having to share and room and not getting plenty to eat or drink and stuff like that, so he did the best that he could do: he ran away.
He hadn't a clue of where he was going, or why for that matter. All he knew was that he had to get away, away from the mess his life was and start something new. He had heard about a town called Pallet Town, and about how a man called Professor Oak was starting up a place where trainers could go and start out their own journey, instead of going and catching their own Pokemon to start their journey and getting a starter to choose from. So, trekking heavily through the bitter cold snow, stopping at a few places where people would let him stop to rest in their homes. It took more than a week or so before James finally made it to Pallet Town, and more or less he was exhausted. He felt like he was going to collapse, but luckily made it before hand. How nice, right?
He seemed to walk into the lab confused looking and yet dumbfounded. Even for a young man, Professor Oak had a lot of electronical stuff in his lab. Plenty of Pokeballs seemed to be laying around as well, none the less. When one of Oak's assistants noticed the young man finally, as he stood there shivering and shaking, they had brought him in, and gave him a dry towel and hot chocolate as well to warm him up while one of Oak's friends went to find the professor. Turned out he was outside, seeing how the few ice types of the Kanto region - Jynx, Seel, and Dewgong - would react with their moves while it was still snowing and cold out. It worked out pretty well, as he had learned before he had gotten called back inside due to James sitting there waiting for him.
When the Professor had sat down and James had told him his story, and what had happened to his parents and such, Oak seemed slightly baffled that the young teen would make such a journey from where he came from in the blistering cold just to get a Pokemon. But then again, people had done much stranger things in their life time. So it was Oak's idea that the boy choose any Pokemon he wanted the the Professor was going to give away or release anyway. But each and every Pokemon that was shown to him, James either didn't like because of how they looked or acted, or just plain hated because of their types. After going through what seemed like so many Pokemon, the only thing left was a Pokemon egg being incubated in the lab. And that's when Oak struck an idea once more.
The egg was taking forever to hatch, and he thought that maybe if James traveled around with it, it would hatch sooner. James seemed excited about the idea of hatching a Pokemon instead of just taking one from the man, so it was a deal. Oak insisted that he take a couple of his Pokemon, though, since eggs couldn't really help you all too well in battling and one of the Pokemon would help keep the boy warm during the rest of the cold winter. So, with an egg and two Pokemon to aid him on his journey, James embarked on a journey that was bound to change his life for the better. Or, at least, James was hoping that it would change his life.
For several months, with a backpack full of items that he revived from Professor Oak, the egg always sitting comfortably in back while he was traveling, James managed to travel though many destinations in the region of Kanto. He did catch a few Pokemon here and there, but other than that, he wasn't all up to getting gym badges and battling. Sure, he was in plenty of fights here and there, and he possibly fought one of the gym leaders, but he preferred to sit back and watch other's fight for the fun of it. That was the way he was used to, you could say. His Pokemon did evolve, for the two Pokemon Oak gave him to borrow were a Pidgey that ended in a Pideotto to help him get around, and a Growlithe that ended in an Arcinine that James did become close to.
Near the end of his journey, and near the start of the Indigo League finals for all trainers who had gotten their badges, James was heading that way to watch when, on a warm and sunny day, while the group had settled down for lunch, James realized that the egg that he had carried for so long - and was starting to believe would never hatch - began to move and shake! The egg was pretty much surrounded within seconds of it's movement, obviously awed with the fact that egg had began moving in the first place. It shook once, shook twice, began wobbling and hopping, and finally, a crack appeared at the top of the egg. James was quick to, once a small hole appeared at the top of the egg, begin helping the Pokemon inside by pulling away the egg shell it self.
Finally the egg ripped apart, and out came a small Pokemon rolling onto the ground. It was small, with a small framed body that fit four legs. It's tail was pretty large and fluffy, to say the least. There was plenty of fur around it's neck, and a small head with big ears to not match it all too well. It was an Eevee, a Pokemon that he had seen plenty of times before with women and trainers alike who tried to claim it's evolutions one by one. But this one seemed different from all the others he'd seen, despite the fact of being smaller than usual. The Eevee he'd seen were all usually brown and white, unless their owner had decided to dye their fur into what evolution they wanted to become in the near future[which James had just thought to be plain wrong]. This one, strangely enough, had lighter fur, with where the white colorings were, was now a solver color.
After feeding everyone and packing his things, his new Eevee in his arms, James headed to the nearest Pokemon Center, where he contacted Professor Oak about his Pokemon. Oak seemed surprised by what the boy's egg had hatched into: his Eevee was a Shiny Pokemon! James seemed baffled by this, but as Oak went on explaining how some Pokemon's structure is changed while still growing inside the egg, James seemed more interested than anything. He was also glad that there was a reason why his Eeevee took longer than usual to hatch, because apparently, a Shiny Pokemon takes longer to grow since their structure isn't fully developed by the time their normal counterparts were to hatch. Well, at least he finally had his first Pokemon!***
After the Indigo League Conference was finally over, James went back to Pallet Town and ended up giving back the two Pokemon that Oak had given him, as well as a few others that he knew he wouldn't be using for a while. James had been caught up in the interest of Shiny Pokemon, and began his journey all over wanting to know more about them, why they turned Shiny in the first place, and if they could ever be multiplied instead of just having one appear every so often, and so on and so forth. He seemed like a really intrigued young boy, and had seemed to have forgotten about his parents dying that fateful winter in the car crash.
Sure, after he left his Pokemon with Professor Oak, he visited his family that he once long forgot about to tell them what he wanted to do with his life. Seemed seemed to care less, really. But they did say nothing about him leaving with his Eevee on his Pokemon journey about shines, and wished him luck and told him to check back regularly and tell them the news that he had found out from his journies. He thought they were being crazy, just joking with him. But he did this anyway, thinking that it would be entertaining to see their expressions with what he had found. Wouldn't you be?***
To Johto he soon traveled after going through Kanto one last time, catching a few Pokemon to help him travel around in any case. He didn't find much in the next region, though received a starter and good wishes from Professor Elm on his studies. He seemed to like the little Eevee, and told the boy that there may have been two new "Eevelutions" that were found just recently, though they had yet to figure out how to get them. With that in mind, James began traveling in the Johto Region, watching most of it being built in the process. James also figured out what the Professor by a new Eeveelution, for one night, James had been attacked by a pack of wild Houndour, who were only looking for a bite to eat off of his camp fire. His small Eevee, while trying to protect her trainer, evolved in the process and ended up scaring away the pack with a loud Screech attack. James later went to tell Elm the news, that Eevee evolves during the into Umbreon, Elm was quick to send the news to Oak.
After trudging through the new landscape of Johto for nearly two years, searching for any Shiny Pokemon that lurked all the while ending in failure, James returned to Kanto to give the Pokemon he caught to Oak - having given some to Elm already - and to let the man see his newly evolved Umbreon. After having thought he saw everything he needed to see, James returned to places like Mt. Silver, the Haunted Mansion of Cinnabar, Whirl Islands of Johto, and the Sea Foam islands. He didn't find much, but spent a couple years looking around those places as well, taking a year after to rest with family because he thought that he needed the time off from exploring all of the time. At the age of twenty two, after plenty years of exploring the main two regions, Hoenn came along, brining better luck to James than any.
After seeing Birch and deciding not to take a recently found starter Pokemon, James was on his way exploring the region with his Umbreon - now nicknamed Shadow - by his side. Right before entering the Rustburo Woods, James had ran into a flock of Swellow and Taillow eating Pokemon food that looked to have accidently fell from a crate that had toppled off of a ship. To his surprise, James saw an oddly colored Taillow in the mix, one that was green rather than a blue color. James was quick to act challenging it to a battle. He was lucky to have bought a Great Ball before starting his route, for when the Pokemon was weak enough, it was easily caught. Yes, finally! A second Shiny Pokemon found! James felt proud of him self for finding the Pokemon, though worn out for why it took so long.
The next one was a bit more challanging. James had spent the next few months slowly making his way through the Hoenn region, not wanting to miss a single thing.....Leave Out All The Rest

NICKNAME: Shadow.
GENDER: Female.
LEVEL: 62.
MOVES:
- Faint Attack.
- Shadow Ball.
- Phsycic.
- Screech.
INFO/PERSONALITY: Shadow was James' first Pokemon, if you had yet to read is history. He received the Pokemon as an Eevee in an egg that was thought to never hatch, and she's been with him on his travels ever since. She was the reason that he got into Shiny Pokemon in the first place, really. Shadow is normally friendly to others, Pokemon especially, and doesn't mind if others stuck around with her for a while. She can also be entertaining, and would most likely happy if you threw a toy around for her to play with. She sometimes gets worried about her owner now a days, since he doesn't get out much. But that's alright with her, especially if she gets sent outside to retrieve something for him. At least, she gets to have a little fun, right?***
NICKNAME: Ace.
GENDER: Male.
LEVEL: Sixty.
MOVES:

He found - or rather glimpsed - the Pokemon when it was chased away from it's pack whistle he was visiting Hoenn. He had tried to catch the Pokemon for several days on end with no success. It ended with the Disaster Pokemon saving his life by warning him of a rock slide Team Rocket was trying to create in their early days while they were searching for some Gravaler, and Ace as well fought on the young man's side and ended up being caught before Rocket could catch the Pokemon. More than often, Ace would be willing to recall that day; you can tell because he is seen usually sitting on something such as a rock or a chair or something of comfort to him, and staring off into the distance.
Ace is what you would call the more calm and collected Pokemon; he is often the one to make sure that Shadow and Rex cause no trouble around the lab - or anywhere, really - and make sure that they do not cause their trainer trouble when the man is busy. Ace if often the one whom, while the group is traveling, to scour ahead of their path and aware the group if something bad is going to happen, since, after all, Absol are known are the Disaster Pokemon.***
NICKNAME: Swellow.

INFO/PERSONALITY: One of the first Pokemon actual Shiny Pokemon he caught, having found the Pokemon in a flock of Taillow and Swellow while he was traveling through the Hoenn region. Swellow is more often than not the calmest of Jame's "team," and if she is not sent to deliver a package or find someone or something for her trainer, she is usually perched somewhere such as a back of a chair or somewhere where she may be able to take a rest for her self, though is a rare thing indeed. Swellow is also kind natured, and seems to adore small and new-born Pokemon, a good thing in James' case, usually.***
NICKNAME: Rex.
GENDER: Male.
LEVEL: Fifty-Eight.
MOVES:
- Flame Thrower.

INFO/PERSONALITY: Rex was received when James was in his late twenties, coming onto his team as an Egg when he was bred with an Arcinine the man once had while traveling around Kanto and an Arcinine whom had Shiny realitives, currently making Rex the youngest Shiny Pokemon on Jame's team. Though, that has yet to make him the weakest, and mostly in any situation - weather James be at the lab or traveling around - Rex is often Jame's body guard, and is usually let free to watch him when he is either asleep, or working hard in the lab. Rex is very playful, though, and is happy enough to play a game of tug-o-war if you have free time.....I Ain't The Sharpest Tool In The Shed.
