It was more than quiet in the woods at this time of night. The sounds of the sleeping and few active pokemon rang through the silence loike a ripple in the water.
The moonlight filtered slowly through the trees, tyring it's best to illuminate the areas suffocated by the thick forest of trees. The canopy above did what it could to block out this light, giving the forest an eerie shadow.
The type fo shadow you'd expect to jump out at you.
Melody grinned in the gloom, her swirling eyes focusing on the darkness before her. "RRrrrrRrrrrRRRriiIIii..." She hummed happily, snuggling in the crook of Cameron's arm.
Cameron was no stranger to the dark. Indeed, many a hunt were aided by the cover of darkness. Hunting Pokemon was easier when they were weary and unguarded after all.
But perhaps tonight he would do more than hunt for material gain. If he found a Pokemon intersting enough to keep anyway.
He crouched down low in the boughs of a tree, tall enough to give him a sligtly ellevated view of the area, but close enough to the ground for him to land softly and safely.
He had been crouching there for a good while now, taking in the serenity of the forest at night.
And he waited.

Whistle you might have been busy looking for Pokemon or items on the ground, up above, in a tree, a lone made a brief landing, seeming to at first not notice you at all. The bird seemingly landed and for a moment began to clean it's wings, unaware of the trainer down below. Of course, some rustling and your Pokemon startled it slightly, making it squawk and jump slightly, the branch shaking with it. After a moment it took for the Pokemon to realize what you and your Pokemon were, it blink, looking down confusingly at you, obviously wondering why on earth you were sitting in the bushes. It might have thought that humans tended to stay away from the bushes, and that perhaps you were a brave one. After a moment of sitting there, just staring at you, it spread it's wings out and cried, "Murkrow! It seemed either to want you to get up and do something rather than just sit there in the bushes with your Pokemon, or it was trying to chase you away. Either way, the bird Pokemon it self wasn't moving, instead lowering it's wings to it's sides as it waited for you to move, making a few noises here and there and it's head tilted one way and the other, it's eyes blinking curiously at you.

He tensed as a shrill cry echoed through the once silent area. Melody spun her wild eyes around, fixing themselves on the figure in the dark. "RrrrRrrIiriRiiiii"
From his current position, he could make out the fuzzy outline of a Pokemon. He was at a loss as to what it might be. Until of course, his brain finally processed what it had cired out.
Murkrow!
Shouldering Melody, he stood from his hiding place and stared up at the trees. Melody tensed slightly, her constant whisper in his ears. Murkrow in themselves were regularly valuable. Moreso if they were wholly evolved. However, it was no secret that the poacher had a soft spot for the hyrid darkness pokemon. And while Melody mightn't like it, he was more than determined to attempt to catch it.
If not, and it attempted to flee, then… Ah well. Murkrow beaks are still valuable, aren't they?
"Melody. Hang on. If it runs, you can strike." He said, soothing the eager pokemon on his shoulder.

"Murkrow! Murkrow! The Pokemon began squaking more as you stood up to move, hobbling back and forth on the tree branch and making it shake, a few leaves falling to the ground in the process. Some return calls from perhaps some other Murkrows could be heard in the distance. The Murkrow didn't seem to care too much, though, simply ignoring them and keeping it's attention on you. Again, the Pokemon gave a cry and fluttered back and forth on the branch, before deciding to quickly fly to the branch across from it and stare down at you, it's head still swiveling at you and your Pokemon who seemed egar to fight. Or something of the sort, at least.

Melody's eyes followed the Murkrow, her urge to fight being replaced with mere curiosity. It seemed to be ignoring the cries of it's kind, opting for staring at them instead.
Not one to pass up an oppertunity, Cameron smirked up at the bird Pokemon. "Heh, so I guess you'd wanna fight then? Fine by us."
And with that, Melody chirped happily and launched herself up into the tree.
"Melody. Use Confuse ray."
"RRrrrRiRiiiiIiii"
She stared wildly at the murkrow, before rearing back and launching an ominous ray of high pitched noises.

The Darkness Pokemon seemed at first confused as to why the Spiritomb had jumped into the tree in the first place instead of perhaps inviting the bird to jump down and join the two instead. It seemed no matter either way, as the Murkrow hobbled to one side as the other Pokemon's weight made the branch shake. Instantly the Pokemon hobbled away from the odd Ghost-Type with a squawk, obviously startled that the Spiritomb would actually jump into a tree in the first place. But it's thinking caught it off guard by your Pokemon's Confuse Ray. "Murkrow? Murkrow! The Pokemon seemed to get hit pretty badly by the attack, knocking it off of the branch it was sitting on and into the bushes below. It didn't hurt it that badly, really. After all, Ghost-Type attacks only half effect Pokemon like Murkrow. It probably still lost two hp, leave it with roughly thirty-four hp. Dizzily, the Pokemon got up, indicating that it was probably confused. Instantly, the Pokemon opened it's beak and used the move Haze, creating a dark mist in the area. It ended up, however, trying to fly upward, only resulting it in tumbling back down and loosing three hp, leaving the Murkrow now with thirty-one hp.

Melody giggled, her grin growing wider as the Murkrow stumbled off the branch. Unfortunately, the hybrid Pokemon forgot that perhaps she was a little too heavy for the branch, and also fell out of the tree as the branch snapped in half. Damaged slightly, she bounced back up only to be smothered in haze. The cover of darkness was hard enough to see through, but the thick smoke made it near impossible. “Melody! Focus and listen for a bit. Try to find out where it is!” Came the voice of her trainer from beyond the gloom.
However, he was far too disctracted by the haze, and struck out blindly with Pursuit!

The Murkrow didn't have much time trying to flutter backwards, and ending up getting hit by the foe's Pursuit, ending with twenty-nine hp. Stumbling, the Pokemon got's to it's feet, weary from the hit that it had received. Unwillingly, the tried to lurch forward to use an Astonish attack, only to loose three hp because it hurt it self in it's confusion. The Murkrow now has twenty-sixe hp.

Cameron, now tired of this silliness, flapped ineffectually at the smog. "Melody! Try another Faint attack."
"RRRrrrrrRIRRiiiIiiII..." Moaned the Pokemon sadly, rolling about on the ground, still blinded by the smoke. However, she did hear something to her left... So she struck out again with Faint attack!

"Murkrow!"Because Faint Attack is undogdgeable. the wild Murkrow got a direct hit, receiving four damage from the attack, ending with twenty-two hp. The Murkrow also snapped out of Confusion, making a startled squawk before lurching forward with an Astonish.
