[/blockquote][/blockquote]To Be Your Own Best Friend...APPERANCE: While Sky looked like a boy through and through as a baby and a child, strange things started happening when he hit puberty, or more accurately, a lot of things didn't happen and a few unexpected things did happen. Sky's face didn't sharpen out the way a lot of boys' do but rather remained subtly rounded, making him look more feminine with his age. A similar thing happened with the rest of his frame in that his shoulder's didn't widen, his fingers slimmed out rather then becoming blockier and his hips widened ever so slightly. In most other ways though he remained scrawny and somewhat short, he never really sprouted up the way the other boys did, but rather grew at a steadier rate reaching 5' 5" at last recently.
As for the things that didn't happen; his male genitals didn't mature, not that anyone besides him should have noticed, he didn't grow any facial hair, his voice didn't crack and become deep but rather reached a sort of midpoint between feminine and masculine at a slow pace, much like his height was achieved, he didn't grow breasts, though he had almost wanted to for the outer sign of his female side, however he looks feminine enough anyways, if flat-chested, and he didn't start getting a whole lot of acne, though that has nothing to do with his double-gendered status.
Sky's hair is a plain brown color, the same as his eyes, hand he keeps it at a medium length by girl standards so that depending on what mood he is in he can pass reasonably well as either gender, though when he heads for a men's room people always look at him funny since he does appear more feminine. Though his adam's apple is a bit enlarged for passing as a female's neck when he leans his head back that isn't exactly something he does when going to the bathroom.. As for his style of clothes it tends to change with his mood. Some days he feels like wearing pretty lacy dresses, some days he just pulls on a t-shirt and jeans. Because of this habit he was once able to convince someone that when he wore dresses he was his own twin sister and when he wore plain clothes he was his own twin brother.
PERSONALITY: Rather then feeling strange or disgust at being part female and part male, Sky gets a wicked enjoyment out of it. He loves using his strange appearance and double gender to mess with people. He will often times tell people that he is one gender or the other, then mess with them by acting in the way of the opposite gender he told them of. Besides getting endless amusement out of it though he is also insanely proud of his "gender." Perhaps if he had any sexual attractions to either gender he might get upset with it for keeping him from really having any sexual relations, but after he transferred his dream of being a parent into becoming a master pokemon breeder he found out that he had pretty much no sexual drive or attractions anyways to match his infertility.
As can be noted from the behaviors described above, Sky has a healthy sense of humor and is very self assured. He doesn't have much of a mind for what people think of him as long as he still knows that he is perfectly fine. He has a fairly good nature in that he is sociable and friendly to people and pokemon alike and he has a kind heart that compels him to help people out when they really need it, even though most of the time he prefers to stay uninvolved from complicated things. He especially loves children and young pokemon and has a great like for anyone who has retained their child-like natures as much as he has. That isn't to say he doesn't like people who are responsible, he himself has become responsible with age as well as anyone else, but he hates to think of those who lose their happiness and innocence while growing up.
Sky can be selfish a lot of the time too though. He tends to be wary to give away the things he has to those who don't desperately need it and he is often tempted to try and take something from someone who doesn't need it. He can also be quite stubborn sometimes, often getting into arguments with people over unimportant details that seem to have a bloated importance in his mind. These are the parts of him that he is slightly ashamed of but cannot change, even though he'd love to hide them from people all the time.

When Sky was born to his parents in the Kanto city of Goldenrod, the doctor heralded his arrival with, "Congratulations! It's a boy." His parents were ecstatic as well as his five year old older sister, though she didn't really understand what having a baby brother would mean. Luckily the slight lagging in attention for her that came with her baby brother didn't cause her to hate him as some might. Instead she was eager to help out with the baby as much as she could and exhibited healthy young girl wanna-be-mother skills.
For Sky though, things were a bit different. When he reached a certain age were boys usually start paying more attention to race cars and robots, Sky was still just happy enough to play dolls and house with his sister. In fact he seemed uninterested in the toys other young boys loved. While at first his parents passed it off as sibling influence, after Sky turned five and still liked to play dolls more then anything else they started to worry. They started to worry even more when he started getting bullied in his pre-school for playing with the girls and bringing stuffed pokemon dolls to nap time. After a few long discussions though they decided to let him deal with it on his own rather then interfering.
Half a year later when they got a call from Sky's kindergarten teacher they began to wish that they had interfered. Ironically, what had gotten him into trouble was a somewhat boyish act, he had tried to steal a vulpix pokedoll from a girl. The problems were in that he did so at the top of a slide, the sort that has a flat platform before the actual slide after climbing the metal stairs, and he had been trying to steal it because he had wanted, not to destroy it, but to see it and the girl had said he'd get cooties on it.
What had happened after that was a tug of war that ended with Sky yanking the pokedoll out of the girl's hands, sending himself and her down with the momentum. The girl fell backwards onto the slide and slid down mostly unharmed. Sky on the other hand fell backwards down the stairs hitting both his head and his chest hard on the stairs before he reached the rocks below. Why playgrounds use rocks or wood-chips is something that might have been questioned afterwords, due to the few rocks that were sharp enough to dig their way into Sky's delicate child skin, if it weren't for the fact that if it had been concrete, he might have broken even more of himself then he had coming down the stairs.
When the school sent for an ambulance and teachers came to make sure Sky wasn't about to die, the girl came around from the other side of the side crying, scooping up her doll, and stealing away the attentions of one of the teachers to take a look at her scraped up arm that had been the first part of her to hit the rocks. It was while that was happening that one of the teachers pulled out their cellphone to call Sky's parents.
They all met at the hospital and the doctors first checked to see if Sky had gotten a concussion. He had a large bump on his head and a great head ache but luckily no concussion. Next they wanted to X-ray his chest and stomach to look for any broken bones or internal bleeding. What they found wasn't exactly what they had been expecting. First they saw the broken rib, then they saw the lack of internal bleeding, then they noticed something that shouldn't have been there. While there were not exterior signs of it, Sky had a partially developed uterus and two small ovaries. Upon a further examination by another doctor it was noted that Sky's male genitals were also underdeveloped. After a simple DNA test it was determined that Sky wasn't a boy, nor a girl, he was a hermaphrodite.
While Sky's parents weren't sure what to think of this Sky himself went ecstatic the next day at school, telling everyone who he met that he was a boy and a girl. Of all the people around him he seemed to be taking it the best, quickly followed by his fellow youngsters, though some of them doubted him and said he was lying until the teacher backed him up. After the initial chaos it created there wasn't too much fuss about it, at least not in the open. However when it came to matters of "No boys" or "No girls" allowed, he was often left out rather then let in. In fact after the news got out to the parents some of them complained that Sky might be using the boy's bathroom and staring at their sons. They requested that he be made to use the girl's restroom because there were at least stalls in there, but then the girls' parents had fits of their own. In the end it was decided that Sky would have to use the school nurse's unisex bathroom that served for only one at a time.
A similar, yet more amusing incident happened in fourth grade when it was time for the kids to watch their first sex-ed videos, however the girls wouldn't see the guy's video until sixth grade and vise versa, yet there was a possibility that Sky would go through bits of both types of puberty. In the end he went to the boy's video with them then stayed after school with the nurse to watch the girl's video. That night he went home and told his mom that he didn't want to get a period. She laughed, but humored him and asked why. His reply was "If I get a period, the blood will be trapped and I'll blow up!" To which she laughed even harder, something he didn't understand until his sixth grade year when the classes finally just watched one sex-ed video together.
That was the day that something about his motherly instincts and love of younger children snapped together with an idea in Sky's head and he decided he wanted more then anything to become a parent. To him it felt as if he had realized what he was meant to do with his life. A few months later he got up the courage to tell his father and so he went up to his dad and pulled on his sleeve saying, "Dad! I know what I want to be when I grow up!"
"What's that?" his dad asked, not really paying too much attention, after all he had already gone through quite few of Sky's phases already and figured this was just another one.
"I'm gonna be a daddy or a mommy!" Sky said proudly, "Just like you and mom!" However his father didn't give him the usual response of "I'm sure you'll be good at it." Instead he froze midway through what he was doing, writing something on a form of some type, and slowly turned to face his son/daughter, a pained and pitying look in his eyes. That night Sky learned another lesson. He learned that he was never going to be able to have kids. The doctors had determined back when they had been examining him that the ovaries hadn't matured any eggs even if his uterus had been formed correctly to carry a baby to term. They had also predicted that he probably wouldn't be able to be a father either as almost all hermaphrodites of his type were infertile.
At the time the only thing he really understood was that something that had been a sort of life's calling for him, at least the way he had felt about it, was going to be impossible for him. It was a blow that made him begin to cry, a part of him that had always remained more girlish were his emotional states, and he went for a long walk, wandering away and trying not to think about what he had just learned.
It was that night when he stumbled into some tall grass while he wasn't paying attention to where he was going and had been attacked by a small purple blob. However, the blob didn't have anything dangerous in sight to turn into except for Sky himself so it morphed into him, then looked puzzled, then smiled at him. This was a pokemon that Sky wasn't familiar with and that it changed into him startled him a little however when it mimicked his face as well he couldn't help but to laugh a little and when it tried to copy the noise, and failed, he started laughing even more and the pokemon smiled at him again as it came closer to him and sniffed him, looking rather funny doing so in a human form.
After that he shifted back into his blobish form and squished itself around Sky's leg. He laughed and walked back out of the grass, giving the pokemon a ride, but it didn't get off and go back into the grass as Sky had thought it would, but rather held tightly onto his leg. Slightly amused and a little distressed Sky started walking around looking for someplace to help him get the pokemon off his leg. He spotted a building surrounded by a small fenced off area and saw a few pokemon in the closed off area so he headed in that direction. When he reached the place he saw a somewhat old man tending to the last needs of the pokemon for the night out in the field and he called out to him to get his attention. The man waved in acknowledgment then quickly finished what he had been doing.
When he came over to the side of the fence to see what Sky wanted he was holding what looked like a rather large egg. When Sky asked him what it was he told him that it was a pokemon egg he had been tending for a long time and they were expecting it to hatch in a few days. Sky was so mesmerized by the idea of raising pokemon eggs that he forgot about the pokemon already on his leg for a moment. luckily the old man noticed and pointed to the pokemon. He asked Sky if the ditto was his. Sky was confused for a moment then realized that he was talking about the pokemon on his leg. He shook his head and told the man what had happened. The man chuckled at the story then knelt down and tried to tempt the ditto off of Sky's leg, however the pokemon glared at him and seemed to become stiffer around Sky's leg, as if holding on tighter.
The old man stood back up and smiled at Sky. "Looks like its yours now though. It seems to have taken a liking to-" However his statement was cut off by himself as he looked down at the egg in his hands suddenly. Sky looked too to see that the egg was shaking. That night Sky watched for the first time as a pokemon hatched before his very eyes. In later days he couldn't decide what was more magical, his getting Sola, or watching that eevee hatching. After the eevee was all taken care of, Sky having been helping out the old man stood back up, using his own hands to support his back as he did so with a groan and a complaint of getting too old.
That was when Sky saw his new calling. If he couldn't be a parent, he could at least help raise baby pokemon. When he asked the old man if that would be alright with him he readily agreed. He and his wife were getting to old to do all the work on their own very well and their daughter was away on her pokemon journey, though they planned on letting her take over when she got back. So for the next few years Sky worked as an intern at one of the pokemon ranches outside of his home town, even after their daughter came back he kept helping, becoming good friends with her rather then having to dislike her for forcing him out of a job.
When news of the new region wanting breeders came about though Sky decided he wanted to go there and set up a pokemon farm of his own. They had theirs all well under control and he didn't plan on marrying their daughter so it would be unfair of him to expect a place there forever. Now he has come to the new region in hopes of becoming an important breeder here.....Leave Out All The Rest

INFO/PERSONALITY: Just Like Sky, Sola has no true single gender. While she can transform into any pokemon that retains a gender, preferring to be female, and seems quite girlish, she herself has no discernible gender. It is because of this that Sky and Sola were able to bond so well and so fast. While Sky was interning at the day care, Sola was learning slowly too, however she didn't get to help with any of the breeding as Sky has yet to have any other pokemon of his own to breed.
Sola herself is a fun pokemon to be around as she loves to play games and has a good sense of humor. Charades is one of her favorites, even if some would call her way of playing it cheating. She tends to get crushes on other pokemon easily and when that happens she turns into a classic shy girl who can't stand to approach them without support from Sky. Sky hopes this is something she'll overcome some day so that she can really help him in becoming a professional breeder.....I Ain't The Sharpest Tool In The Shed.
