Tap. Tap. Tap
The floor, lined with tile, seemed too noisy on such a quiet day as the young boy shivered into thewarmth of the indoors. Okay, so he had to admit, even Snowpoint never seemed as cold as this place would have been is. Still, he didn't seem to let that get to him as he stomped hisfeet lightly on the tiled floor, making sure not to let any dirt get further than the doorway as a tall Psycic type followed him inside close behind, it's arms dangling downward as fists clutched spoons in hands, the metal looking as if it were aboutto bend. Of course, when it's cold outside, and you have a ten year old complaining the whole way, you'd be clutching those spoons, too, trying not to hit him.
The place was descreitly quiet to say the least, and, after the boy with the green stripes in his hair was done wipping off his shoes and clutching his bag real closely, looked around with cruiostiy. This was the waiting room, he knew, and a lotoflabs had one. Well, someof them, anyway. Mostly gyms did, but he wasn't too big on looking up gyms. The place with all of the Pokemon, and seeing how they looked and stuff. Yeah, he wanted to work ina place like this! Like his parents would ever agree with it, though, thinking that because he spent the better part of his childhood in his room that he should getout and "see the world" while he still could while he was young. And how muchof this do you think he is actually agreeing with?
None, of course. Would you?
"Al, Alakazam Kazam Ala Alakazam."
"So, I do take it we just wait here?"
Matt blinked, shaking his head lightly as he took him self out of his trance. Somethings, he couldn't get his head straight, something that he had gotten from getting so into books with so much concentraion, and it being hard to get his head out of them when his parents called for him. Now that was an annoying thing, and the only thing about him he would agree with his parents.
"I think so, yeah," the boy partly mumbled, shifting the glasses on his nose as he looked around wearily. He hated waited. And so did the Alakazam.
Though, as they stood in waiting, Matthew saying a few things about Pokemon and labs to try and make things more entertaining, the Alakazam could have sworn that, out of the corner of his eye, he say a movement dashfrom behind a plant and into the nearby hallway like a desolent shadow, but when his eyes trailed over, he saw nothing. Just his imagination, perhaps it just was.

Aika's white boots weren't too covered in dirt but she stomped her feet lightly and wiped them on the mat on the floor. Next to her Ixmil still stood, she was going to sit there with her until she was sent back home when Aika got her new pokemon. The whole Lab was white and tile, as most lab's tended to be, she followed her way down the hallway to find the place to wait, which wouldn't be hard. Her boots made a lightly sound against the floor, but not a huge clunk or even a tapping noise, it sounded more like normal walking despite the little heel she did have.
Her purple eye's scanned each door before she found the waiting area, standing in there was a young boy with an Alakazam, they looked impatient. he made her way in and sat down in one of the chairs to wait while she observed the boy, he looked rather frail to be getting a pokemon, but she'd met people who got stronger because they'd gotten a pokemon. Ixmil sat herself down at her trainer's feet and looked at the other two.
"Glace Glaceon." Aika set her hand on top of her pokemon's head lightly. "Have you been here long?"She addressed the boy and his Alakazam, she knew it would keep both there minds off of the wait and possibly make things faster if they talked, she almost doubted she receive an answer but she still tried anyways. She sat there quietly her other hand left in her lap while her legs were crossed like any lady's should be. Her boots covered most of her skin on her legs, up to the knee but from there was the light peach color from mostly being inside, but she was still rather tough in pokemon battles. The back of her long black skirt hung off the chair under her while she waited, she made sure she was covered, not like it was too hard, the front of her skirt wasn't horribly shirt. Her purple eyes watched the young boy waiting to see if he would answer her or not.

[OOC; By the way, the waiting room is right when you get inside the door, the hall if for going to the main part of the lab. ^.^]
Alakazam, Kazam Al Alakazam, Kazam?"
'So what Pokemon did you say your starter Pokemon was going to be again?'
For the second time, the young soon to be trainer jumped at his Pokemon's Tele-Pathic speech. It was funny how some Pokemon could actually envelope some of those brain waves into something useful such as being able to talk to humans. Of course, Para often used it just give give the boy a lift, and more scarsly did he use with others who were not of his own company. It sometimes made Matthew feel specail, he hated to say; ever since he was little, he could remember the large Pokemon speaking to him to chase away his fears via telepathy, while with his father - the Alakazam's techinal trainer - he only spoke in Pokemon to the man when he egarly wanted or needed something. Not that Para relied on humans, to say the least; in fact, he was the complete opposet, and if he had a choice, he would live alone, secluded to the rest of the world.
Now blinking back to the past, the Phsycic type seeming in no hurry for the boy to recall memories as he spoke his answer, Matt finally found his voice enough to speak back with the Telepathic Pokemon.
"Well, I was thinking of asking the Professor if he had any Phsycic types on hand," the boy said with almost slight curiosity. "I mean, I heard they got a new shimpment of Pokemon in a few days ago to be released, though I'm sure he won't mind giving me a Phsycic type if I ask real nicely, right?"
"Alakazam, Alka Alakazam."
'Who knows, he actually might.'
That response wasn't the one the boy wanted to hear at the moment, seeing as how they just chose the starters for the region and all, though he spoke nothing of it as his eyes glanced around the room once more. It seemed bare, and Matt really wished that his motehr was here to start her franticness of wanting to clean and tidy things, and make everything have more spirit. At the thought, it panged him to think about back home. He missed his parents deeply, mostly because he was miles away from them at the moment. He really wondered if he shouldn't have taken the boat here, and instead stayed in his home region of Sinnoh. Yeah, that might have been better off said that way, really. He didn't notice his current partner Pokemon giving him a slight pity look before turning serious, a cold wind sweeping into the building again. Matt's thoughts were blurred by this, and for a moment he thought that the door broke or something. But confusion turned into his other-person-aphobia as a girl, looking a few years older than he was, walked in with a Glaceon. Glaceon was more common of a Pokemon where he came from, and Matthew could almost remember the female Gym Leader in his hometown - Snowpoint City - had one, too. Though it was strong, from what his father had told him. Like, wickiedly strong. But then again, his dad did have the astrocity to over exagerate when telling his sickly son stories, so then again... 'Have you been here long?'Matthew gave a slight gulp and instead looked to his feet as the girl spoke to him, sitting in one of the many chairs that were fashioned in one area of the room. Of course, he didn't mind standing; he was often used to it when back at school on the playground when he didn't want to be bullied for being slower than everyone else. He wanted to stand there and stay quiet, too, if it weren't for a certain nudge into his spine that made him give a sligt look of anger to the Pokemon standing next to him. The Alakazam always kept wanting him to talk to people, and it annoyed him. Sure, he couldn't make friends with Pokemon his whole life, but why not start liking people later? The Psy Pokemon seemed to often disagree with that comment. After a slightly angered growl and looking back to his feet, Matthew finally spoke, his glasses dimming as he found the voice he needed to speak with. "Y-y-yeah," he stuttered almost uncontrolably, sounding as if he were freezing even though he was not. He could never get his thoughts cleared when he was speaking to others that were human. Which was usually why he wanted the Alakazam to speak for him. Either that, or the Pokemon was going to have to teach him telepathy. But either choice worked for him. He wasn't going to have to open his mouth for both, after all. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

It had honestly been one of those busy days. One of those annoying, busy, hated days that no one wants to see, really. Sure, he was supposed to do these sorts of things. He was now the professor of a new region, for crying out loud! In all truth, he probably never would have accepted it if he knew it was going to be like this. But was his old job any better? It had eebn getting harder and harder for him to go searching around looking for oddly-colored Pokemon, and even slightly harder to hatch so many eggs just to release them or hand out the Pokemon that weren't what he had expected. Perhaps this would be eeasier, just to let trainers, breeders, and co-ordinators to do that sort of things, and just show him their collections. Yeah, that seemed much easier.
James Mc Allen sat a small desk in the back room, his eyes trained on the papers that sat infront of him. He had gotten a letter or so from a few of his colleages back in the regions of Kanto and Johto, and he could help but read over them. Well, he had been reading over them. For the past few hours, really. Beside his desk, on a perch and taking the shallow light that her trainer let flow into the room, a light-green Swellow slept, seeming to like the peace and quietness. After all, she had been doing her job greatly for the past week and a half; Swellow had been a messenger for her trainer, traveling to other regions and other towns and sending and reciving letters and packages for the man. It was lucky that she had good stanima.
Below the table, resting at the man's feet, slept a red and pink colored Absol, obviously resting from a day of having to watch over the small baby Pokemon that seemed restless in their game and chase and hide. Of course, Ace was going to have to wake up soon, James laughing so blankly at, with a small yellow Growlithe whom was never able to watch small Pokemon because, at heart, he was one. Rex was a cute little bugger, but often got scorned by the other Pokemon of the team for acting to 'immature.' Speaking almost of that, the professor couldn't help but wonder where his starter Pokemon had run off to. After she had gotten back, the oddly-colored Umbreon had possibly went somewhere to sleep or something. She had traveled a bit far just to find the mayor. A jolly man he was, but often he couldn't sit still.
James seemed to be so lost in thought about the letter and other things, he seemed to ignore the footsteps that infultrated the room. The Swellow barely moved a muscle, merely shifting on her perch to get more comfortable. The figure below the desk peaked it's green eyes around it's sitting Professor, but, after seeing that the new comer was no threat, laid it's head back down to go to sleep. There was a small call, though James failed to notice it, so obviously annoyed, the small black and blue creature jogged over to the seat, and again gave a cry, her ears flashing slightly.
"Breon!"
"Hm?" James nearly jumped at the sound of his Pokemon trying to contact him, and, with one hand on his chin and the other on the table, looked curiously at the quareped beside him. The Umbreon stood patiently yet almost excitidly next to him, her tail twitching slightly. "Something wrong, Shadow?" the man asked, reaching down with his left hand - the one that was on the table - to pet the Pokemon beside him. The Pokemon seemed to enjoy it, though when he lifted his hand, instantly jolted towards the door way which she entered, stopping and looking back expectantly. "Hm, someone here, Shadow?" he asked, slowly getting up and out of his chair.
He didn't think about pushing it back in, since Ace was sleeping steadily there, and Pokemon didn't think about moving, and, putting his hands in his lab coat pockets, swiftly moved to follow his Pokemon. Neither of the two moved a muscle as the Umbreon swiftly dogded out of the room, followed by the Professor, seeing as how they'd be right back, though Ace gave a weary look. The hall was long and slightly narrow in Jame's veiw, though he walked rather quickly into the cold entrance room where the two trainers stood - well, one stood, one sat -, one yound boy with an Alakazam and the girl with a Glaceon. They both seemed pretty impresive, though the girl seemed to have more knowlage about traveling with the Pokemon than the boy did, noone the less. James gave a welcoming smile, anyway, as Shadow gave a call, trotting slightly over to the Glaceon to perhaps say hello.
"Sorry, I hope I haven't kept you two waiting too long," the man apologized, taking one hand out of his pocket to adjust the glasses that he wore. "I got caught up in some paper work, and Shadow here just came back and informed me that you were here. I take it you two are here to get your starters?... Erm, well, hopefully...."

Aika looked up when the boy has answered even if he was somewhat shy,. she left him be after his reply and sat there a little while longer. When she heard the man enter his Umbreon went over Ixmil and they sat down chatting, or at least in a way only pokemon could.
"No I haven't been here too long, though the boy seems to have been, I'm pretty sure we're both here to get our starters. He can go first since he's been waiting longer." She says lightly motioning to the boy.
Ixmil sat there happily listening to her trainer talking with the Umbreon's trainer and then she decided to say something to the Umbreon.
"Glace! Glaceon!"
Aika glanced down at her pokemon who was chatting with the Umbreon before she looked back at the Professor.

Of course, after he spoke, the girl failed to reply. A good thing for him, and a conversation to later speak with the Alakazam. He wouldn't be snotty about it, of course; he'd just show the Pokemon that not all humans didn't want to talk to him. Para would porbably roll his eyes when he spoke of it, thinking he was immature, but hey, he should learn to listen to him, shouldn't he? He might be his trainer, after all. Well, unless his father asked for his Pokemon back. Then that would just be an epic failure, really it would. And he actually liked the Phsycic type too! Not that he didn't like any other of his parent's Pokemon, of course; he just liked Paranormal better. A sad thing to say, sure, but hey, he had a knack for Phsycic types, none the less.
There was a moment or two of silence, before Matthew heard footsteps coming down the hall, and his eye averted to the hallway that they were coming from. A man in a lab coat quickly appeared, as well as a Shiny Umbreon that took the boy's attention as the man tried tto apologize for taking too long on his arrival. He didn't mind, of course, for he was used to waiting, though chuckled slightly as he wondered where the man could have gotten the Pokemon from as it greeted it's Eeveelution counterpart. When the girl spoke of him going first, he literally jump and blinked slightly at the thought.
"R-r-really?" the boy stuttered quickly, clutching his side bag yet again. "I-I mean, you sure?"

James smiled slightly at the girl's curdisy. Some people seemed just too nice sometimes. He had met a lot of trainers and other Pokemon posessors in his day that were like that, though many he wished would just drop off the face of the Earth, they were that cruel to both people and Pokemon. He often built his anger off of those sorts of things, really. Heck, he could debate about those things all day if he could, but he didn't have all day. That was the only problem with it, at least. He was often too busy to start long discussions about things, mostly because now he was a professor of a region, a job he thought he'd never recive in a million years. Or when Areceus decided to keel over and die, to say the least. Yeah, a pretty long time was the main thing there.
He smiled slightly again as Shadow begin interacting with the Glaceon the girl owned, the Umbreon's tail twitching as she looked over the other Pokemon before giving a cry and a slight jump, obviously happy to see another Eeveelution. If was funny at how many Shiny Pokemon never thought twice if they looked different than their normal counterparts, and didn't care if they were more highly valued than more Pokemon, though less than Legendaries were. That was the good thing about Shadow; she didn't care if she was different. She just liked to have more fun than a Happiny with an egg.
After the boy stuttered out his response - he seemed a little nervous in the first place - James deicded to speak up rather than stand there like an idiot. That wouldn't have right in the first place, since he was going to have to learn how to do more around here.
"I won't mind if you both come back at once," the man stated with a smile. "After all, the lab is big enough to fit a lot of people. Care to follow me, then?" The man chuckled and waved for them to follow him, and turned slightly down the hall, though waited a moment to see if they would follow. Shadow instantly scattered from the Glaceon, and jolted down the hallway with a call.

Aika nodded and got up, she followed after the professor and the younger boy who seemed nervous. "Then I'll come along with you...." She says following them still.
"Glaceon~" Ixmil says chasing after the Umbreon happily.
Aika smiled watching her beloved pokemon play with another of her Evolutions, it made her happy just to see it, she looked at the young boy and his Alakazam. " Mind if i ask what kind of pokemon you want?" She asks walking next to the younger boy. She was trying to be friendly, create a bit of conversation while they walked with the professor, her shoes made a light clicking noise with each step. Her black bangs fell into her eyes and she moved them away while waiting for him to speak.

When the Professor offered to take both of them in back, he almost wished that he hadn't; Matt didn't like being around other people too much, as you might have noticed. He didn't disagree with that, though, and instead looked back to Paranormal for a moment - the Pokemon gave him a glance that said to move instead of just staying there - before turning and swiftly following where the Professor and his Umbreon had left, not taking a second glance towards the girl as he followed. Of course, Para was curious enough to leet the girl and her Glaceon go first before following his trainer. Para often thought that Matthew could often be more rude than afraid in the first place; the boy often disagreed with that statement in the first place, the Alakazam never saying much more after that.
Matt glanced up at the girl halfly as she spoke to him. She was at least trying to be nice, he had to give her that; many people, once they found out that he really didn't want to try to speak after the first or second try usually left him alone. He gave her credit, at least. Something he really didn't give to other people. Well, certain peopel anyway. His eyes averted back down to the tiled floor as he spoke.
"P-probably a-a Phsycic type," he said, this time with a little less stuttering. "I-I mean, if he has one, at least." And, possibly his first rare time, he actually looked back to her and asked her the reverse question. "What about you?'

Aika smiled as he answered back and looked down at him a little since he was a bit shorter then her. "Probably a water type if they have one here, but since water pokemon are normally starter's anyways they'll probably have one." She says while still walking.
She glanced back up at the professor who was leading them, Ixmil was still following the Umbreon, before she paused and looked back, sitting on the floor and waiting for her trainer to get to her.

Had this hallway gotten longer by some sort? It was pretty strange, really, but then again, this was the first time that James had come out of that cursed room in over a week, possibly more. He really needed a better life, but heck, it probabl'y wouldn't get any better than this in the least. He was getting paid well, wasn't he? Neh, he did in the least. Or most, really. Ahead, the footsteps of Shadow having darted off not too long ago had faded, meaning that she had already made it to the back room and was probably messing with the machine. It was funny enough that she thought that the starters were currently still stored in the machine, when really he had put them in their Pokeballs on a high shelf not too long ago so that the Umbreon wouldn't mess with them. The last time he had let them play with her, one of them evolved!
Sigh, what would he ever to with her?
The room seemed more lit when he led the two children. Was another light turned on? He smirked at the thought as Ace let out a mixture of a yawn an a growl as he slowly crept out from under the desk, the horn on his head twitching. And, as James expected, Shadow stood with her two front paws on the machine that stored most of the Pokemon at the lab, her ears twitching as she watched the different buttons blink on and off. James stepped forward to a bookshelf where the three Pokeballs witht eh current starters laid, calling to Shadow to make her quite messing with the machine. The Pokemon listened, but only with a slight growl of protest as she saw what the man in his hand.
"I take it you two want to see the sarters, right?" James asked with a slight smile.

Matt gave a slight smile as the girl replied, though he him self did not as they neared the end of the hall way and into the main room to the lab. Honestly, he was slightly suprised at the veiw. There was a few shelves packed full of books, and to many, they would be bored at the scence of it. But honestly, Matthew actually had the urge to go and take one off of the shelf and start reading it. Though he knew that that would be rude, per say, and he decided not to. Plus, if he did, he'd possibly get slapped in the head by a spoon from Paranormal. And trust me, when he hit someone with a spoon, he normally wasn't kidding around. Matthew would sadly know of such as thing, none the less.
The computer was hug in the least, of course. Possibly linked to the place that storge the Pokemon in their Pokeballs, where ever that may have been. Too bad he couldn't just ask for a tour of this place. Para probably wouldn't feel like walking around an entire colorless, bland building all day. Of course, Matt didn't feel like questioning him about it, either. The Shiny Swellow and Absol were pretty interesting; Matt was starting to wonder weather or not he'd be able to find s Shiny Phsycic type or not. It was less likely, since Shiny Pokemon were rare in them selves, much less finding a Shiny of just one type, or one Speices.
When the Professor spoke up about the three starters, Matt decided that it was the best time than ever to speak up about the Phsycic Type.
"U-uh, excuse me?" the boy questioned, trying to get the man's attention, "b-but do you happen to have any Phsycic type that I may be able to have at the moment? Um, please?"

Aika stood with the young boy while the professor got out the three pokemon balls, though his pokemon that were scattered around the room where pretty to look at. Ixmil sat at her feet which caused Aika to smile and lean down to pet her lovingly.
"Glaceon~" Ixmil says her tail wagging slightly.
Aika didn't have anything to say at this point and was hoping for the boy to be able to get a Psychic type like he wanted, as for her, she could pick just about anything but she was hoping to get a water type. She hoped that maybe she'd do good with water seeing as she wasn't anything like a fire type person, she wasn't rash or short tempered. But she wasn't soft spoken or meek like most grass type trainers, she guessed on the workings but she figured water should work, Ixmil helped out with that too, she works just fine with her Ice pokemon, why should water be too much different? She figured it wouldn't be easy of course but it would be fun none the less and that would be worth it in the end.

"A Phsycic type, huh?" the man asked in slight suprise to the boy's question. "Well, I can probably check in the computer system, if you want." Then turning to the girl, and pressing the Pokeballs to make them enlarge, spoke, "Here, you can look at the starters, if you wish."
He pressed the buttons on the Pokeballs, and instantly three red lights flashed before their eyes. Three different types of Pokemon appeared; a Magby, who seemed slightly skittish and a little shaky at it's souroundings, an Elekid, who seemed hyperactive and battle-loving, a little too intruiged by it's own electrical currents to actually notice the trainers, and a Poliwag, who seemed a bit laid back and just happy to meet the new children who just might pick her to be their starter.
After James released the Pokemon out of their Pokeballs, Ace stepping forward to make sure they didn't reek any havoc - with their luck, the first two would - he turned and walked back to the the large computer in back, setting the Pokeballs that held the three starters on the table. James quickly went to type on the computer, searching up the Pokemon they had stored in the place, mainly for Phsycic types, as the boy had asked, though sadly only found one Pokemon of sed interest as it so happened be. The Professor pressed a few buttons, and all of a sudden, a Pokeball came landing out of a tube similar to the one you would see with the telephones at the Pokemon Center.
"I hope you don't mind a Ralts," the Professor apoligized, turning and picking up the Pokeball before turning and walking towards the two. "But it seems that's the only Phsycic type avaibible for the moment that isn't too - how would you say it? - 'completely intamable.'"

Matt, of course, kept quiet as the man released the starters out of the girl to see. Honestly, he thought they were slightly adorable. If he wasn't planning to get a Phsycic type already, he probably would have chosen the Magby instead. It seemed sort of skittish, though it would probably be better when it evolved. Plus, his parents wouldn't ever be worried about him with a Magmortar on his side! He had read once that a Magmortar's flame was hotter than that of lava. He could have been wrong, yet Matt had yet to believe that a Pokemon that began out that small could end up having a flame that powerful! Matt smiled inwardly at the thought.
The Elekid seemed to have just too much energy, to say the least; he could have sworn that he heard a slightgrowl from Para as the small Pokemon started to create some small sparks. It looked as if it probably wouldn't listen to a trainer his age, much less even the girl either way. So that Pokemon was defitanly out of the line up if he were to choose. It would most likely cause some mischeive. The Poliwag looked cute and calm. Normally, Water-Types were docile and relaxed rather than feisty and hyperactive like most Pokemon. That would possibly be Matt's other choice, since it could turn into two different Pokemon; possibly a silly Politoad or a tough Poliwrath. He had seen a few of the Water and Fighting type Pokemon while on board the ship.
Matt jumped slightly when he realized that the Professor had already started talking to him about his Pokemon. The boy perked up when he heard about the man talking about a Ralts, and that sounded like a great Pokemon; he could get two kinds of Pokemon, just like Poliwag when it evolved. His parents - or mom - would be happy to have a Gardiviour that would protect him. Or, if it were a male, he could get a Gallade that was both Phsycic and Fighting, and defended the weak more than often. Matt, of course, happily nodded his head.
"Y-y-es sir," he said with a smile. "W-well, if you'll let me."
